I have been deeply inspired by stoic quotes over the last 6 months.
So much so that I have decided I am going to start to share some of my favourite. Not just any quotes: those specifically that support the agile movement through its wisdom and profound connection.
This one in particular should be a new tattoo. Not to mention the name of a great book by Ryan Holiday The Obstacle is the Way
This means quite a lot to me in the context of business agility.
In agile, obstacles (aka impediments) are seen as opportunities for growth and improvement. We swarm in on obstacles as a team and address them so we dont suffer the impact time and again. Firstly because it is cheaper to address obstacles when they are identified, secondly ignoring obstacles doesnt mean they go away, and third if we are experiencing the obstacle then others are too.
